How we ensure you get the most money for selling your gold jewelry

How We Work

It’s true–there has never been a better time to sell gold. Yet, you need to know what you have before you sell your gold to anybody.

Victoria Gold can help you with that. It’s important that you get the most money for gold, silver & jewellery and be treated fairly. We’ve created a special Gold Calculator for you so you can get a rough estimate of what your gold is worth. I say “rough estimate” because there may be stones or mixed karat quality in your items that can affect your gold’s accurate worth. By knowing the weight of your gold, in grams, before you meet up with a gold buyer, you will know if what the money for gold being offered is fair market value.

Get an estimate of what your gold is worth, using our Gold Calculator located in the right sidebar.

Once you have made a decision to sell your gold, silver, jewellery or other precious metals, we will take you through the following three (3) steps to determine its value:

Step 1  – Sort & Validate

Sort: Gold and silver are not magnetic. So we use a super strong Earth Magnet first to sort out magnetic items that are clearly not gold or silver. Then we check for hallmark stamps to sort your items for gold purity.

Validate: A gold tester is used to validate the karat quality of the sorted items. We can calculate a precise karat value of any gold item based on the amount of 9-volt current that passes through it: e.g., whether it’s 10K, 14K, 18K and so on.

Step 2 -  Weigh & Estimate

Weigh by karat quality: Once all the items are sorted and validated, they are weighed to determine their weight in grams.

Estimate: Now that we both know the amount of gold or silver and the quality you have, we will give you an estimate based on the market’s spot price on the day of our appointment. Please note that our daily prices are always posted on our website for your review.

Remove stones: Once you are 100% happy with the estimate we give you and have agreed to sell your items, we will remove any easily removable stones and return them to you. We do not charge for stone removal. Remember that on the open market, small used stones have little to no value. However, for sentimental reasons, you may want to consider reusing them in the design of future jewelry.

Step 3 – Quote for Cash On the Spot

Provide firm quote: To get an exact weight of the gold or silver after any stones are removed, your items are re-weighed to make any final weight adjustments and to provide you with a firm quote. There are no hidden fees or commissions.

Cash for Gold: Your price is based on the market’s spot price on the day of our appointment. If the markets haven’t closed on your appointment day, your market price is based on the previous day’s close. We will pay cash for your gold on the spot.
